Blanche Nevile Primary Newsletter
11th September 2009
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back! It is lovely to see the children back after the Summer holidays refreshed and excited about their new year! All of the children have settled in very quickly and are getting to know their new teachers and support staff.
Staffing update
We are very pleased to welcome Jane Beavis, a qualified Teacher of the Deaf, who has joined us for the Autumn Term. Jane is currently covering Jackie’s absence until she is well enough to return following her operation before the Summer. Jackie sends her best wishes and hopes to return soon.
Home School Liaison
Jude Mann, our new Home School Liaison Officer, will be contacting you to make a home visit over the next few weeks. We are delighted to be able to offer you this supportive link between home and school. Jude will be happy to discuss any support you may need or indeed be able to offer to other parents.
Individual needs
Please also let us know if your child has any food allergies or special requirements, or medical needs/medication, including asthma inhalers.
Eid celebration
We are planning to hold an Eid celebration on Thursday 24th September in the afternoon. We are delighted to welcome all parents and carers to this event. A letter will come to you soon!
Healthy Snacks - contributions

Children in Foundation stage and Key Stage 1 have fruit provided at school every day. Children from Key stage 2 can also bring in fruit for snacks. We also have snack times in the afternoon and ask for a contribution of £3 per half term from all parents/carers so we can continue to provide healthy snacks. If you have not already done so, please could you send in your contribution next week with the slip below. Thank you.
Other information
Please see the attached Highgate Primary newsletter for information about changes of staff and the building! The dates are the same for Blanche Nevile, but please note our parent consultations will be on Wednesday 7th October only, until 6:30pm. Whilst we are not holding welcome meeting for parents, if you would like to meet your child’s teacher before 7th October, then please let us know and we will arrange a time.
I look forward to seeing you all soon and working with you this year.
Best wishes,
Sarah McLay
