Trip to Bhaktivedanta Manor

On Tuesday 26th September Year 3 and 4 visited Bhaktivedanta Manor, the UK home of the Hare Krishna movement, as part of their topic ‘Living Together’ with our partner school, Highgate Primary.

On a gloriously sunny day, the children learnt about the Hindu religion, in particular the Hindu gods, including the story of Rama and Sita, and the important aspects of celebration. Everyone appreciated the beautiful house and grounds, which were  donated by George Harrison, and the children found lots of lyrics in the George Harrison Memorial Garden.

After a delicious lunch of home-made curry, the children delighted in dressing up  in traditional Hindu dress and loved feeding the sacred cows and riding in an ox cart!
