At Blanche Nevile, we believe in developing and extending children’s learning as much as possible. Enrichment broadens horizons, develops new skills and contributes to children’s personal and social development. We try and extend learning beyond the classroom as much as possible and link it to real life experiences.
This happens in a number of different ways:
- Forest School
- School allotment
- Sporting events / competitions
- Assemblies, performances and shows
- Trips and visits
- Visitors to the school
- Specialist music tuition
- Specialist sports coaching
- KAOS signing choir
The Kaos Signing Choir for deaf and hearing children is the only integrated deaf and hearing children’s choir in Great Britain. Children from both Blanche Nevile and Highgate Primary take part in weekly sessions and the children regularly perform across London.
The project supports confidence development and promotes communication and friendships between deaf and hearing children. Kaos choir had the honour of performing at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in 2012.
